Frequently asked questions

Do I have to stay with my child?

No, We are childcare preschool practitoners, who are registered with Early years and Ofsted following preschool education.

Does my child need to be potty trained to come?

No, every child is different and learns this skill at their own pace. We work with parents and guardians closely when they start potty training so we can do the same at playgroup.

What happens after I enquire?

Faye, the manager, will be in touch to arrange a showround. This is where you can see the room set up and ask any questions you may have. After filling out the relevent paperwork you will then book in your childs free settle session before they start with us.

Do you provide any food?

We provide your child's morning and afternoon snack. Morning snack is a healthy snack of fruit or vegetables with a bread option or cereals. Afternoon snack is a biscuit.

What is lunch club?

Lunch club is where the children and staff can enjoy having their lunch together. All children are sat with a staff member at their table, having conversations about what is in their packed lunch from home. This helps the children to get into a routine of sitting for lunch in preperation for school. They then can enjoy looking at stories once they have finished their lunch.

Is there a minimum amount of sessions my child can attend and what notice period do you need if I want to change my sessions?

We have a minimum of 2 sessions per week and we ask for 2 weeks notice on any changes of sessions if we are able to accommodate. This will need to be discussed and agreed with Faye or Sarah.

How will I know when it is term time?

We follow Derbyshire county council on their term times. Information on when the terms start and finish can be found here. You will also recieve information about inset days through email, newsletters and updates on Facebook.
